Cape Consumers Card (b-Smart Card)

Cape Consumers offers their own brand of credit card to approved applicants. The card which they call the b-Smart Card is accepted at a wide variety of shops and stores across the country.

Cape Consumers b-Smart Card works just like a regular credit card but as an added perk, the organisation pays an annual bonus to members every year based on their overall purchases throughout the year.

All transactions made with the Cape Consumers b-Smart Card are electronically processed through an ABSA Terminal or Nedlink. When the card is swiped through the terminal, a printed transaction slip is provided for the cardholder’s signature. A copy will be retained by the member.

Cape Consumers imposes a monthly purchase limit on the b-Smart Card and cardholders need to keep track of the purchases made with all the linked cards so as not to go over that limit. When the limit is exceeded, the transaction will be declined.

To be approved for a Cape Consumers b-Smart Card, the applicant must be over 18 years of age and earns a fixed annual income of R48,000 or more. Applicants must also be a South African citizen, have a good credit profile and complete the application form with acceptable affordability assessment.
